This Privacy Policy applies to the Trapol8 browser extension (the "Extension"), provided by Trapol8, Inc. ("Trapol8," "we," "us," or "our"). This Extension is available exclusively to Trapol8 customers and is subject to your customer agreement with Trapol8. In the event of any conflict between this Privacy Policy and your customer agreement, the customer agreement takes precedence.
What the Extension Does
The Trapol8 Extension is a productivity tool that helps authorized users interact with web-based content as part of the Trapol8 platform.
Information We Collect
Information from Web Pages
- Text content: The Extension accesses text content from web pages when you actively use its features
- Page URLs: We may collect URLs of pages where you use the Extension
- Page structure: The Extension analyzes page HTML to provide its functionality
Account and Authentication Information
- User information: Name, email address, and user ID from your Trapol8 account
- Organization information: Your organization ID and name
- Authentication data: Session data managed through our authentication provider
Usage Information
- Content interactions: Data about how you interact with content through the Extension
- Extension settings: Your preferences and configuration settings
The Extension collects only the information necessary to provide its functionality as part of the Trapol8 platform, and accesses web page content only when you actively use its features.
How We Store Data
Local Browser Storage
The Extension stores data locally in your browser, including:
- User and organization information (temporarily cached)
- Extension settings and preferences
- Session-specific data (cleared when browser closes)
Authentication is managed through HTTP-only cookies set by our servers.
Server Storage
Data you choose to save through the Extension is stored on our servers (hosted on AWS) and associated with your Trapol8 organization account.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Extension's core functionality
- Process and generate responses to your requests
- Authenticate your access to the Extension
- Maintain and improve the Extension
How We Share Your Information
The Extension operates as part of the Trapol8 platform and shares information with the same third-party services as our main application. We share your information with:

- Within your organization: Content you save through the Extension is accessible to authorized members of your Trapol8 organization

Extension Permissions

- Local browser data: Session data is cleared when you log out or close your browser; other local data persists until you uninstall the Extension

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission and secure authentication practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Your Rights
As a Trapol8 customer, your data rights are governed by your customer agreement with Trapol8. For questions about accessing, correcting, or deleting your data, please contact us at the information below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share your information, we will provide notice to affected customers before the changes take effect, through one or more of the following: email to your organization's account contact, a notice within the Trapol8 platform or Extension, or as otherwise set out in your customer agreement. For non-material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the Extension after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy, except where your customer agreement provides otherwise.
